Curren$y Artist Mobile app
Artist Experience & Lifestyle Platform - This project involved designing a full-fledged mobile app for the rapper Curren$y (Spitta Andretti). The goal was to give fans a place to explore his music, lifestyle, exclusive content, merchandise, cars (“whips”), sneakers, and fan art — all within a single, immersive brand experience.
The entire visual direction was inspired directly by the artist’s personality, aesthetic, and lifestyle culture.
01
Problem Statement
How do we create a unique artist app that goes beyond a standard music player — something that reflects Curren$y’s world, his love for vintage cars, his style, and the Jet Life culture?
The challenge was to design an interface that feels personal, iconic, and instantly recognizable, while still being simple for fans to explore music, shop, and engage with his community.
02
Competitive Research & Analysis
To understand the space, I explored:
Mobile apps released by other major rap artists
Music + lifestyle apps focused on exclusive fan engagement
How artists merge music, merch, and content (design patterns, navigation styles, visual direction)
However, most artist apps looked generic — often using standard dark UIs, lists, and simple grids. None truly reflected the personality of the artist.
For Curren$y, the differentiator was clear:
His signature green aesthetic
His obsession with old-school muscle cars
His unique “Jet Life” culture
His fan community’s strong interest in lifestyle elements (cars, sneakers, art)
This opened the opportunity to take a completely different, more expressive approach, blending music, lifestyle, and culture into one cohesive visual identity.
03
Solution
The app was designed with a cool, old-school, lifestyle-driven visual identity centered around:
A green color palette chosen by the artist
Visual elements inspired by his vintage Impala car interiors
A custom dashboard-style music player referencing classic car meters
Large, expressive visuals for sneakers, cars, and fan art
A simple browse menu that feels bold and iconic
Clean layouts showcasing albums, mixtapes, and exclusive content
The UI combines nostalgia, hip-hop culture, and modern mobile design to create an app that feels authentically “Spitta” — something fans instantly connect with.

Learnings & Reflection
Designing for an artist means the brand is the personality, not a corporate identity.
Small stylistic decisions — colors, typography, textures — can dramatically strengthen emotional connection.
Creating a custom music player inspired by a vintage car dashboard showed how design storytelling can elevate a simple UI.
This project reinforced the importance of blending culture + usability to build memorable digital experiences.
